In case you don’t know what I’m referring to, here is the story of the two enlightened gentlemen who decided a debate over Kant with a pistol. Sadly, it remains unknown (to the best of my knowledge) just what resolution they came to – another bit of philosophical truth lost to the dustbin of history.
As for the government shutdown, all I’ll say is that it is a strange world when I find myself in complete agreement with the likes of Andrew Sullivan and the NY Daily News.
YES! The categorical imperative says that we should all take philosophy very seriously. ALSO, the unexamined life is not worth living, so anyone not otherwise willing to explore philosophy should be “strongly encouraged” to do so.
Ha! Nicely done.
Welcome back!
Thanks!!
Hey ok, at least -something- good is coming out of all the idiocy in Washington. Effing Congress
Congress? The whole place is nuts. They haven’t passed a budget since Bush left, and HE was incompetent.
Oh boy, I can’t wait until my next philosophical debate with someone!
