Pro tip: next time you’re vanquished by a mortal enemy, lay a little existential dread on them as you die. The last laugh will be yours (not that it matters).
Yes! I noticed that Chaospet had become a lot less stabby these days, but didn’t want to complain. Way to bring it back to real.
It’s important to get back to the basics every once in a while.
Also, I hope you bear the message of this comic in mind as you bask in the thrill of your recent Words triumph.
Yeah, yeah, I know; but still TOTALLY worth it. He went well with chianti.
Mmm, I could go for a nice Chianti.
Protip, don’t let the deader talk.
The part I find worrying is that the mortal enemy is entirely sure that he would be the one to be vanquished. Isn’t having a nemesis an equal opportunity type gig?
Danny, a GREAT point. A twist would have solved this budding problem before it started. This is yet another thing that evil overlords get wrong all too often.
liosis, all of MY mortal enemies either know how it will end, or don’t know anything.

Liosis: Oh, I didn’t mean for it to read that way. The possibilities are supposed to be either the rival is defeated and killed, or else he triumphs – in which case he lives for maybe a few more decades (until old age or disease or something else gets him).
Danny and Wm: That’s no way to treat an arch-nemesis! You gotta give them a chance to have their last words; it’s all about respect.
chaospet — I see your point; in hindsight, I see that this is why I can never manage to keep a nemesis for more than a couple years. Perhaps I AM my own worst enemy.
Hmm. That can’t end well.
Well, now he can go and beat his sword into plough… ploughythings.
Or, given his current unhappiness, fall on it.
He just needs to find himself a new arch-nemesis, then he’ll be ok. Or even better – turn his old one into a zombie!
A zombie with contradictory beliefs and no consciousness. So, …, a dialetheistic philosophical zombie.
In other words, the BEST zombie.
The best of all possible zombies.
And therefore, a zombie with the property of necessary existence.
Uh oh. So why is there something rather than nothing? Well, because zombies are awesome.
That is the most satisfying answer to that question I have heard yet.
