I did some reading (not like I had anything else to do) and found that according to some acting like a jerk, but being kind of "funny" about it, works. Example: Guy walks up to girl at mall. Holds up two shirts. Guy: Which one do you think would be more attractive on me at a party? Woman: The green one. Guy: Oh good, I'll make sure not to wear that one. Need to keep the crazies away. (Or something like that, implying she is crazy) Apparently it worked. Yes, that's right, this guy walked up to a random woman in the mall trying to get hooked up. Instead of saying something nice he acts like a witty jerk. It works. Why does it work? I don't know, and to be honest my reaction was: "WTF? Why?" I know if a girl did that to me I'd probably walk away scratching my head in confusion. So yes, apparently number 1 works. Depending on how the insults are used I suppose. Then again the guy who wrote the article gave it a tone that was distinctly pissing me off. Jealousy? Maybe. Righteous indignation? Maybe that too. It’s odd.
