#183 Aliens vs. Freddy

#183 Aliens vs. Freddy

Nester’s dialogue in this comic (and thus, the basic idea for this comic) was taken from a Facebook status update of Ben’s. So, at least 58.7% of the credit for today’s comic belongs to him.

And speaking of the good Dr. Burgis, did you know that he is hosting the next Philosophers’ Carnival on June 28th? You didn’t? Well, now you do! This promises to be the best Philosophers’ Carnival ever (since the one I hosted here, anyway), so those of you with blogs (you know who you are… I mean, if you have a blog, I assume you know it) should hurry up and produce a philosophicalish entry and submit it for Ben’s consideration.

Finally, for those of you who enjoy punny comics (and if you’re here, there’s a good chance that you do), this recent one really made me chuckle.

So, does that mean that if I stalk you two on Facebook, I can get to see more of your humor? Sounds decent, where do I sign up? 🙂

I intend to write something for the carnival again. Thinking of an essay about a proposed terminology for truth-carrier discussions. I did some work on that already but nothing completed. Anyway, if I can’t get myself to do it properly, I could always submit my recent essay on begging the question and expand that a bit. You may be familiar with the phrase but it turns out that it isn’t defined consistently in sources at all. Not even close.

Well, they are making that new Predator movie…

The first Alien vs Predator movie was bearable (though they killed the predators off FAR too easily); it was kinda fun. The second one made me vomit a little. They turned it into a typical slasher movie, a typical TEENAGER slasher movie. You know, the teenage boy and girl sneak off for some “alone time” and get killed and mangled by some alien/Jack the Ripper rip off/mutant giant animal/moonshine swilling hillbilly (who manages to insult all hillbillies in existence)/Demon/etc. Moral of the story is usually deducible from what I have just said.

As you can probably tell, I never watched any of the Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street movies. I did read the plot synopsis (such as it is) on Wikipedia though (for all of them).

You know what? The Alien vs Predator video games have more plot than the movies. Okay, so they actually are decent plot wise, but how many video games have a decent plot?

Emil, ha.. I can’t promise we’re always that funny, but we are easy enough to find on Facebook, especially if you look at the Facebook group for Chaospet. 🙂

Canuovea, yeah, I’m extremely wary of the new Predator movie. I WANT it to be awesome… but I am skeptical.

And what?? You’ve never seen any Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street?!?! They are classics!!! Well, at least the first entries in each series are classics. They tend to get less awesome the further you go into each series. But still, you need to watch them!!

First of all, stick figure Freddy made my day, really, thank you. He’s far too cute to be evil!

And sure, there would be no fear and insecurity to fuel Freddy in these aliens dreams, but if I know Freddy he’d still find some funked up stuff to do in the alien dreamland, maybe he’d even take on the task of raising the alien’s consciousness from within to get them to *start* representing themselves, and then he’d say something like, “First I give you consciousness, and then I take it away… I am the alpha and the omega, b*tch!” and then commence to shred their grotesque gooey Giger butts apart!

Wow, I’m a little too into this comic.

Lol! If Freddy did possess the power to raise an alien’s consciousness to the level of self-awareness, that *would* be exactly the sort of line he’d lay on it. One wonders if it would have the desired effect as the alien is still trying to piece together exactly what it is to be a conscious entity in the world, but regardless it would be awesome. Nice one.

  6. Emil says:

Ok, Ryan, I’ll go stalk you now!
